I am offering a short intensive course sharing my
passion and knowledge for the ancient Art of woodfired stoneware ceramics.
During the course we will cover:
·Collecting and processing local
·Handbuilding and Wheelforming
·History of woodfired ceramics
and the contemporary international woodfiring community
·Aesthetic, ethical and
·Kiln design and building
·Glazes for woodfiring
·Kiln loadingand firing and post fire finishing of
Course duration will be from the 14th of
Feb to 10th of March Five sessions making in the Takaka Potters club studio
at the Work Center Trust. Tuesdays and Thursdays 14th, 16th, 21st,
23rd & 28th, 9:30am to 4:30pm Three sessions at the Anagama Kiln, Ahurangi, Birds
Mar glazing and loading the kiln. Firing duration will be Mar 3rd to 6th,
choose at least one shift
Kiln unloading and debrief 10th mar.
Course Fee: $280 (up to 50 payable in hands)
Includes studio rental and all materials
Limited to 8 participants
I am also offering the kiln loading and firing as
workshop from March 1st .BYO Pots $150 or come early and have 2 days studio time $200.
